Moll Cocktail

(6 People)
2 Glasses Gin. (3/4 oz Plymouth Gin)
2 Glasses Sloe Gin. (3/4 oz Lindesfarne Sloe Gin)
2 Glasses French Vermouth. (3/4 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth)
Add a few drops of Orange Bitters (1 drop Angostura Orange Bitters) and sugar (dash Depaz Cane Syrup) to taste.

Shake (stir?) and serve in cocktail glasses.

Vermouth, strangely, seemed to be the dominant element in the Moll cocktail.

A perfectly fine, if a bit dull, cocktail.

  1. Interesting post Erik, and wow what a nice array of great cocktailpics and the vintage glassware is really beautiful. I wish i could visit a bar like that sometimes to sample some real good cocktails.There isn`t very much here..

  2. Hi, I am researching the History of the “Moll cocktail”, and would like to know who invented this cocktail and when, as I believe it may have been a Great Grandfather of mine.

    • I don’t know who invented it, but I can tell you that prior to being published in the Savoy Cocktail Book it appeared in an English Cocktail and entertaining book called “DrinksLong & Short” by Nina Toye and A.H. Adair published in 1925.
